Happy December 1st, y’all! I can’t believe it’s already here!
I have had the most wonderful morning to kick off this wonderful month…
I started the day by attending a breakfast for an organization called Safe Horizon, which is “the largest victims’ services agency in the United States, with 57 locations serving more than 250,000 children, adults, and families affected by crime and abuse throughout New York City each year.” It was truly an incredible event where we got to hear testimonies from those who have gone through Safe Horizon’s programs and utilized their services, as well as the vision for the organization going into next year. It was a good reminder and dose of perspective about life in the midst of a time of year when we often get caught up in our own little worlds.
After the breakfast I had a little bit of time to kill before coming to work, so I decided to walk to the office. Fortunately for me, the breakfast was on Central Park South, so I walked across the bottom of the park, by the Plaza hotel, down 5th Avenue, and by Rockefeller Plaza to see the Christmas tree! It was an absolutely perfect way to start my day, seeing the 5th Ave window displays, the tree, etc., and was made complete by a quick stop by Dean & Deluca for my favorite latte in the city.
Tonight I’m having dinner with Lauren in SoHo at a place called The Cupping Room, which I’ve heard wonderful things about.
So far, December, you’re lookin’ pretty good.
