Home, Sweet Home
It has been so wonderful to be home!! I’ve gotten to see so many people I love and have lots of family time - and I’m only half way through my trip! Here are some highlights so far:
- I’ve finished The Hunger Game series - oh my gosh, SO good!! My step-sister Roxanne read them too, and we both finished today. We’re obsessed!!
- I had a great Sunday just like old times with my family, complete with getting to spend some time with Roxanne’s boyfriend and his family.
- I saw my friend Chris who did a residency rotation in NYC, which you may remember.
- I went to a Chi O alumni party with Debby and Victoria, the two fellow Chi O’s in the family - it’s such a fun bond to share!
- I had dinner with my wonderful friend Jonathan and had a great heart to heart.
- I saw my sweet friend Anna from high school that I haven’t seen in years and years, got all caught up, and I got to meet her adorable little boy, Beau.
- I saw The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - so dark and twisted. Loved the book and the movie was pretty accurate to it, but something about seeing it on the screen made it even more creepy.
- I’ve gotten to spend tons of time with my family, especially my little brother who I hadn’t seen in a year!! And we got to celebrate his birthday belatedly tonight! - We started a new tradition of sister lunch, where my two step-sisters, Roxanne and Victoria, and I have some lunch and spend time together and I love it!
- I got a manicure and pedicure with my friend Hailey, who I’ve literally know since birth. Her mom was one of my mom’s very best friends and we grew up together. They are so dear to me and invited me to their early Christmas dinner and celebration with their family on Wednesday and it was so fun to be a part of! It’s a darn good thing we got our nails done because…
- Hailey got engaged tonight, and I got to go to her party right after to celebrate with her!!! It was so special to be there, and I am just thrilled for her and so, so thankful I was in town to be a part of it all.
- I’ve also consumed tons of queso, sugary treats, and Chick-fil-a, which has been sickening but so satisfying.
I’m so thankful to be home! Tim, my step-brother, got in town tonight, so we are finally all home. Now we have 2 big days ahead and I can’t wait!
